About the Opus Prize Foundation

The Opus Prize Foundation is a philanthropic organization affiliated with The Opus Group, a $2.1 billion national real estate development company based in suburban Minneapolis.

Gerry Rauenhorst, founder of The Opus Group, sought to find a better way to conduct business and to set a high standard for corporate social responsibility. His vision became a reality. Since the company's inception in 1953, Opus has donated 10 percent of pre-tax profits and thousands of volunteer hours to community organizations.

The Opus Prize, through the Opus Prize Foundation, is the result of Gerry's vision — a tangible way to support people who are committed to transforming the lives of others and inspire the next generation of humanitarian social entrepreneurs.
