The 2007 Opus Prize Jury2007 Opus Prize Jury

At the invitation of Very Rev. David M. O’Connell, president of Catholic University, a high-profile jury met at a downtown Washington, D.C., hotel on March 23 to recommend three finalists for the $1 million Opus Prize.

The following individuals made up the 2007 Opus Prize jury
  • Librarian of Congress James Billington
  • CNN News Anchor Wolf Blitzer
  • Sister Carol Keehan, D.C., president and CEO of the Catholic Health Association
  • Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, archbishop emeritus of Washington, D.C.
  • National Public Radio talk show host Diane Rehm
  • NBC News Washington Bureau Chief Timothy Russert
  • Special Olympics Chairman Timothy Shriver
  • ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent George Stephanopoulos
  • Saint Vincent College President James Towey
  • Former Washington, D.C., Mayor Anthony Williams
